Fast service and great prices. “Car Keys Express” out side of Sam’s club, wanted to charge me $50 just to cut a simple vehicle key (No programming). I came to My Local Lock Smit and was charged $10 per key.
They also were able to program and cut a Fiat keyfob with no issues. Something the competition could not do.

Overall very pleased with the service. Will be using them again.

Let me be perfectly clear: you WILL be charged, even if no work is done and even if they are not qualified to do the job.

I contacted Not Your Basic Locksmith for a diesel SKIM issue and explained the situation up front. They still dispatched a technician and collected the mandatory $65 fee, then admitted on site that they could not communicate with the vehicle, did not have the required software, and lacked diesel knowledge. I was then told the job would need to be bench-done—something that should have been identified before taking my money.

The technician was professional and honest. This review is not about him.

The issue is the owner, who the technician called during the visit. During that call, I was told the system was “SKIM deleted.” It was not. Whether that statement was made through ignorance or dishonesty, it was false.

This business model is simple:
They show up, take your money, and only afterward tell you they can’t do the work.

If you own a diesel vehicle or need SKIM / ECU-level service, do not call this company. They are not equipped, not qualified, and you will still be charged for nothing.

0 stars for the owner’s integrity and business practices.
1 star for the technician’s professionalism.

Edgar did a great job on key fob replacements for our cars. Both of our key fobs broke around the same time and he came to save the day. He was pleasant, respectful, priced fairly, and quick to get the job done right. He came after hours to accommodate our work schedules.

Chris and Ken both waa awesome. Customer service A1. I had a quote from another locksmith to have a key fob programmed for my 2008 cadillac dts it was $400. Outrageously high. I called A1 and received a quote for $74. Went into the store and was greatest by both Ken and Chris. They helped me out and I even got an extra key made while I was there for the car. Key and Key fob was not even half the price I was quoted… these guys need a raise they made me feel very welcomed. If you need work done try out the Arlington location I am sure you will see why I gave them 5 stars.. keep up the great work guys

I wasnt sure of the service i was getting, based off the representative who dispatched the key maker guy. I was not very happy. She was short, very fast and very unhelpful. She said in other words I will know when hes on his way whe he calls me. There was no time table. So that was rude. I was making sure we where there when he arrived. The wait was not too long, and I very impatient but the key guy was so freaking amazing. Very friendly , down to earth. And he made us feel like he genuinely cared and wanted to help as much as he could. He gave a price and I told him the other locksmith had given us a price 100 Less. Could he maybe tske 50 off cause he did come to us. He said let me see what I can do. he came back with a price less then the locksmith that we had to go to. Freaking amazing I wish I remembered his name. Highfive to the guy who came out to mccullars bar and saved me. Had my car door open with in seconds and shortly after he had not 1 but 2 keys to start my car. I didnt even have 2 keys before.

they take your card details, charge you 167 dollars just to open your car door. i canceled my order and was told id be getting a full refund and woke up to an additional 80 dollar charge. called them back to get the charge disputed and canceled and they claimed i was never a customer and that i was calling the wrong number. got transferred to multiple customer experience numbers that are inactive and do not work. was on hold for about 30 minutes then the call dropped saying ‘there was an error with call forwarding’. then they gave me another phone number to call and it said there was no one in office and that i should call again within their work hours. i called multiple times within their work hours and got the same run around. do not use key me locksmiths. 167 dollars to unlock a car door is ridiculous in the first place and their customer service is terrible.
