I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel people in this town should be aware of the experience I recently had with this long-standing local business.

We purchased gas logs for our fireplace less than a week ago. Unfortunately, the logs were larger than expected and would not work properly with our gas setup. When we went back to return them, the owner was very firm and unwilling to help resolve the issue in any way. We were told there are no returns on seasonal items and were instructed to contact the manufacturer instead.

At no point during the purchase were we informed of a no-return policy. We were later told there is a sign behind the counter, which I was unable to see due to another customer standing in front of it. For an item like this, basic courtesy would be to clearly explain the policy at the time of purchase.

The product never worked at all, and we are now left without a solution other than dealing with the manufacturer ourselves. What was most disappointing was the lack of care or effort to help resolve the problem. The owner even stated that I “wasn’t listening” and repeated that it was no longer their responsibility.

You would expect a local, generational business to value customer service and work toward a solution, but that was not our experience. Please be aware of their strict no-return policy before making a purchase here. Supporting local businesses is important—but it’s hard when customers are treated this way.
