This is the largest “hardware” store in the county, but it’s still small for modern standards. They have a lot of specialty items that locals need: livestock and pet stuff, Stihl products, hunting and fishing, and lots more. It’s clean, well organized, and well stocked for the space they have. I’m my experience, the staff service can range from arrogantly neglectful to extremely helpful, but it averages out at politely helpful. I go here for specialty items, but I prefer to go elsewhere for more common stuff.

Just moved into my new place and stopped by J&L Pacific Locksmith to rekey all my locks to match my new Wi-Fi front door lock. Jeremiah was awesome—super friendly and explained the different lock brands and how to make everything work together. He rekeyed five locks to match my Smart Lock, and everything works great. Somehow managed to lock both sets of keys in the truck – with the engine running (!) an hour out of Baker – half of which was up a rough dirt road to elk camp – on a Sunday morning of course. I left a message a got an immediate call back. Steve came right out and rescued us. State Farm picked up the tab. Embarrassed? You bet. Grateful? Better believe it.
