I called Elite Locksmith to get an estimate for a lock change. Instead of giving me a quote for a door stricker, the technician went ahead and changed the lock without my permission. I never agreed to the service, and thankfully, I didn’t end up paying—but the damage was already done.

The new lock they put in doesn’t work properly, and now I’m left with a faulty lock that they installed without consent. This was completely unprofessional and careless.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. They act without approval and don’t seem to care about the outcome. Very disappointed.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I’m actually pretty aggravated. Mainly in regards to the lack of transparency surrounding pricing. I was locked out of my apartment and my complex does not offer lockout services after hours but sent a list of recommended locksmiths. I saw several good reviews for this business and the hours shown are 24 hours. So I called. There was no transparency about pricing. That is my main issue. When I called, a woman took my information and said there was a locksmith in my area that could come out. When I asked about an estimate, she just told me that the locksmith would call me with the details. I received a call but only to confirm the address. Still no estimate. When the locksmith arrived,he took a look and said that he could get it open but would have to drill through the lock (I’ve never had to call a locksmith so I’m not privy to what exactly that means or entails) When I asked again about cost, I thought what he said was $139 followed up with “I will have to send a picture to the office and they will let me know for sure.” He began drilling and drilling and seemed to become kind of frustrated with the situation as I could hear some swearing being mumbled. Aside from the drill, he only ever used pliers and a wedge type of thing with an air pump. After about 40 minutes, he was able to get the door open. This was also after the drill died. I am grateful to be back inside however, I could have had any random person do this if I knew it meant only literally drilling though and pulling out the pieces of the lock with pliers. When he was done, he said it would be $189 and asked how I would be paying. I offered card and was told there would be an addition 10% fee for card and he named off other methods of payment. After deciding on a method, he said it would be an additional $20 as the cost of him coming “so add that on.” I’m just puzzled on what exactly I had to pay for or what the breakdown of cost was. $189 to drill through a lock and $20 just to drive less than 2 miles to me? Not an “after hours” type of charge because the hours listed are 24 hours.

I was out doing last minute Christmas shopping this evening and my car wouldn’t start. I contacted my insurance company for roadside assistance and was assigned to Pop-A-Lock. Austin came out within 30 minutes of my request. He was very professional and the process itself was very quick. He was also knowledgeable and answered my questions. Austin jump started my car and I was able to get back on my way within minutes. Thank you Austin for your service. Would recommend this company to others.

Rudi came out and replaced my door opener that would not hold its adjustment. He takes pride in his work , was very speedy to respond and serviced me when the part needed tweaking. I really appreciate a business that stands behind their work and does quality work.

Work was above average and somewhat as promised. The finish and style wasn’t an exact match but it was a hastily planned improvement on our end. The chrome finish is what was requested and the brushed is what we got. As stated before it was an adequate job, nothing over the top.
