I had an excellent experience with Omar and highly recommend his services. He responded promptly on a Sunday evening after my newly installed smart lock (from Amazon) malfunctioned when the internal batteries became dislodged, causing the electronic mechanism to lock.

After a brief phone call, Omar arrived at my home within 35–40 minutes, which was greatly appreciated given that other locksmiths I contacted were unavailable over the weekend. He was professional, patient, and efficient, quickly diagnosing and resolving the issue. He also took the extra step of ensuring the lock was properly secured and functioning correctly to help prevent future malfunctions.

Omar’s responsiveness, expertise, and attention to detail made a stressful situation much easier. I would not hesitate to use his services again and would confidently recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable locksmith.

Javier was Awesome! professional, efficient, and friendly. I had an issue with my car keyfob not working. he walked me through some troubleshooting and identified a simple fix without me needing to come in or for him to stop by, no attempt to upcharge. That kind of intention and effort sets them apart from most other businesses out there in my opinion. They actually care about customer service. The attendant who answered the phone (don’t know name) had similar qualities. 5/5!

Tim and his wife are two of the kindest business owners in Salem with out a doubt. Advice never comes with a price. Down to earth people. Very humble. In their outgoing telephone message, they explain how they operate. Their main focus is on the people in their shop needing key work. They don’t answer the phone and encourage you to come into the shop if you need things done. It is an old fashoned way to do business and I admire them for it. You can’t get things done in this small business with very limited help if you are on the phone all day. If you leave a message, you might not get a call back but if you go into their shop, you will get first come first served total devotion to your issue for a very reasonable price, lowest in town for sure! Please tip them! They are rare in this day and age of self centered entitled rude customers! Take Tim’s answering machine advice. Stop in the shop. If they aren’t there, know they are buried up to their necks helping people! The people that can’t afford the prices at lock smiths that hire someone to answer the phone all day. When you leave the shop, I guarantee you will be very happy with the money you save showing your patience and forgiveness to two very kind people!!!!!

I would like to change my review my battery died on and my fob less than three months when I got it changed here and when I did my research and took the old battery out that they put in that they said it was new. It was a CR2025 When my key fob was supposed to be a CR2032 Big difference and when I open the key fob and change the battery myself, the battery they put in looked old. This is the only reason why I’m changing my review. I will definitely not be going back. I will be changing my battery myself from here on out.

Called the day before to ask about car key/fob replacement. Gentleman on the phone said they offer this service, no need for appointment, just come anytime outside of the 12:30-1:30 lunchtime window. They even asked about year/make/model and was affirmative that a replacement there was doable.

Arrived around 1:40, I asked about getting the FOB/Key replacement from a younger gentleman, first off, he said “yeah we don’t do that. We only do key replacements with a chip, we don’t know anything about FOBs or broken buttons” Fair enough, not what was said on the phone but…I mention that I called the day before and he said “well our auto guy isn’t even here he’s at lunch.” Okay when will he be back? “At least 30 minutes” The whole time getting looks like they cannot be bothered and why the hell are you here for this. I mention that I would be okay getting just the key replaced, and I would just do the FOB at a later date. At this point I’m getting frustrated vibes from the gentleman and decide to take my leave. The conversation did not end with any sort of “oh sorry for the miscommunication” or “thank you for coming in” or any basic level of acknowledgement that I’m there to support this small business.

Look it’s fair to not have a service available but it’s not fair to treat customers like shit, especially when they do the right thing and call the day before to ask if it’s an option. I cancelled plans, bought ride-share for my partner and the response was disproportionately negative when I was just asking questions about services offered in person at this business.

There are plenty of locksmiths in Portland, support another small business.

Pretty disappointed after looking at the reviews and not getting the same quality of service most of the reviews reported. Had a bad experience with Swanson, so we called Albany lock & key to come out and fix an issue with the lock & knob for our business. They came out the same day to replaced our hardware and key it to our keys. Within a week we realized that we could not lock the knob lock from the outside, which wasn’t terrible since we also have the padlock. I called to tell them and they didn’t seem too concerned. At that time I also noticed that the “new” hardware had a crack in the shaft behind the outer knob and appeared used, we had expected that he installed new hardware prior to noticing that. Then a couple days later the door started sticking closed and wouldn’t open at all to allow customers in and out, so we called them back to fix it. They came out and got the door loose and said the issue was resolved. Within a week the door was sticking closed again, so we tried to call them back but they didn’t answer and didn’t return the call after leaving a voicemail. We ended up having to call a different maintenance person to get the door open again twice since we last tried to call and have been told that the hardware is worn out and will continue to stick. Leading us to believe it was in fact used hardware. I really hoped we’d have better luck with Albany lock and key based on other reviews but ended up disappointed. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to expect follow up on issues that may arise from services that your company provided.

Advantage just cut me a new key and programmed at new fob for my Honda. Excellent service and efficient. Previously used to cut new house keys. Price was very reasonable for both. Great to have this service in Multnomah Village.

Had an issue with my deadbolt on my garage door. Jack was quick to answer and was able to get there shortly to repair it. Door and lock works better now than when it was first installed. Price was fair and consistent with what others quoted. Would use ABC lock and safe again.

We locked ourselves out on new years day and called this business for help. Emanuel was lovely to work with. He got here in 15 minutes and was even kind enough to answer questions about what he was doing to get the lock open as he worked. The price was even solid for new years day ($199 total).
