I absolutely love the feature of being able to save my keys and duplicate them later. I was able to use that feature yesterday but had to go through extra steps because the machine credit card payment was out of order. I was pleasantly surprised that I was still able to make keys, paying with cash. It took longer because I had to leave the store to get cash, but at least I was able to. The reason I took off a star is because the machine has been out of order several times in the past year. (At Lowe’s, who has nothing to do with it)
Our town has another kiosk at Wal-Mart but I couldn’t use it to make my stored house key. I wish they were all as good and as full-service as the one at Lowe’s. I just wish they were serviced more regularly, or at least as quickly as they need to be. It’s frustrating to not be able to count on it when I need it.

The kiosk I was using was extremely load far beyond what it should be and I have some tone defness. The cost for house keys is outlandish and then for a price users have the option to “upgrade” to have the shavings, debris, and smooth your key out… what.. this should be included in the price at no cost. I did need to get a few copies made but I am going to Lowes where I can have an actual person use a key cutter at a far cheaper price and have pretty much the same selection with out having to pay $5-10 more than what your basic to get one with a design. Designs may not be neccessary but are fun and if you have multiple house keys it helps keep them seperate as to which key goes to which door… the house, the shed, my adult kids house and my house key for my adult children, we all have pets and sometimes have to get in during vacations or emergencies. I do like the convienience, the actual process was not that long. And it says it can print any key but it could not print a key for my truck even though it advertises it can print any type of key.
