Alright so! I started off as a hater! But I have to say, these are the only people anywhere near my house who were able to do what I needed. If you lost the keys to an old car with a single sided door key and/or chip key this is may be the only place that can help you.
I have a 1998 Buick (Vats key system aka. total nightmare) and they told me they had my key in stock (they kinda did but it was actually in a town about an hour away at another location so I had to wait an extra day, frustrating) so I managed to call enough Buick dealerships to kill a horse and get my vats# and key code but because my car is so old and also prone to having ignition switch failure (two very flimsy stupid wires) somebody else who owned my car changed my ignition and that changes the key cut, unfortunately there’s nothing they could do about that and they did try for me. They sent Craig out to my house and he was able to calm me down a bit although he couldn’t do anything to fix my situation and yes I did have to pay $97 for all of that for nothing. It’s not their fault but it obviously didn’t feel good and I was mad. I knew I couldn’t actually leave a bad review so I didn’t but man I totally wanted to. I ended up going to route of replacing the ignition and I sorted that part out. So then I’m mobile again but I cannot lock my doors. I found my key blank at an old hardware store for $3 (pro tip for the cheap people) BUT all of the mobile locksmiths (I called atleast 5) said they couldn’t cut the key because it’s ONE SIDED so I knew I had to come back, I was less worried this time about the door key code from the dealership being incorrect (the vats# was right and the door locks being changed would be super suspicious… Like maybe the car was stolen by someone in the past) but for my peace of mind Craig let me peak behind the counter at the preview and compared it to a picture of my lost key (I should have done that the first time but I didn’t know any better) everything worked out beautifully this time. Thankyou guys for being kind and I’m sorry that my frustration leaked out so much on our first encounter. Personally I hope to never have to do this again but if I have to… I guess this is the only option and also the best one. Also thankyou Craig for remembering me, it made me happy to know that you were routing for me.
