i called for a price to get a new key fob. i was told an estimate and asked for an exact price so i knew how much to ask my mom for but he hung up on me. i tried to call back but instead got a rude dispatcher saying i “refused” the price. i just needed an exact price. won’t recommend at all.

I had the pleasure of working with Dougs Lock and Key Service in Marion, Illinois, and I can’t say enough good things about them. I called them on a Monday (a day after a snowstorm) to install two new locks for my home. I was converting the property from an independent residence to a rental and needed the work done by Friday. Not only did they exceed my expectations, but they also made the whole process incredibly smooth and quick.

To my surprise, they showed up just 30 minutes after my call, despite the snowstorm that had dumped over a foot of snow. The technician was not only prompt but also professional and courteous, taking the time to have a pleasant conversation while getting the job done.

I was impressed with how quick and efficiently he worked. He had everything completed and my home ready to go five days ahead of schedule! The service was also reasonably priced.

Honestly, I wish all companies had customer service this good. They truly went above and beyond. I highly recommend them, and they’ve earned every bit of this five-star review!

I machine actually sounded like it worked great. Spitting keys out 1 after another because I had to make multiple. They all seemed to be correct, until I got to where I needed the keys. Not a single one of them worked. I was so upset cause out of 5 keys, 1 would unlock the door but wouldn’t lock it, the other 4 did nothing only the original worked. I don’t know if the lazer inside that does the measurements is dirty or needed calibrated. I used it once before years ago and it worked just fine. I guess in a pinch I would use it again. Hopefully I’m able to use a small file or something to get them to work.

I order 2 keys and got one free, not a single key will unlock my door. I initially left a one star review, but after contacting customer service they immediately refunded me my money. The experience with customer service was excellent.

LET ME JUST TELL YOU THIS! My fiancé and I went to Jason with a frustrating situation. Our key to the truck was messed up and irritating the life out of us.
Between the professionalism of this business and the chairs in their waiting room area…I could have stay there all day. But they are quick and great! Joey, Virginia and Chris were awesome! I loved the dog too! We will be back next time we have issues.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. At first, Dave came across as professional and friendly. He guided me to order a new key fob from a specific website and told me he would be able to program it within a day or two after it arrived. Things seemed promising.

Once the keys arrived, I called to let him know. He asked me to meet him at the vehicle in 30 minutes, so I waited over an hour with no sign of him. No call, no text, no update. When I finally got in touch the next day, he apologized and rescheduled me for the following day, promising to call in the morning. That call never came.

This cycle repeated multiple times over the course of almost 3 weeks. I was repeatedly told I’d be put on the schedule “tomorrow” with no follow-up, and I had to be the one constantly reaching out. When I finally spoke with someone else at the company, I was told they were waiting on Land Rover for a programming code—something I found confusing since they had already promised to come out several times before without it.

After more unreturned calls, broken promises, and conflicting information, it became clear that Dave either underestimated the difficulty of working on my vehicle or simply chose not to be upfront about it. Instead of honest communication, I was left waiting, chasing updates, and wasting my time.

Moral of the story: Extremely unprofessional, poor communication, and unreliable service. If you value your time and clear communication, I cannot recommend this company.
