i know i already wrote a review but i would like to add something i asked multiple times what the price was over the phone they said when they get there they will tell me the price they said would be there in 20 minutes i waited 40 and when he got there i asked for the price again and he said wait till it’s over and i’ll tell you i was very mad to find out that getting a key out a car took 120$ i understand they need to make money but i would like to know the price before hand not after he’s done also would like to note the man made me give him a 5 star review

I bought an older home that didn’t come with keys and I couldn’t bring myself to throw out the beautiful detailed hardware. I pulled several of the deadbolts and knobs off, took them to Loyd and he decided them and made me a set of keys for just pennies of what it would have cost replace all the locks and he was quick too! 10/10 recommend him for all locksmith needs!

2 stars for it giving me the key, but the rest of the process is very slow and pricey at that. it took 10 minutes for me to get 1 key and it was almost 10 dollars by itself. no fancy design or anything. never using these machines again. and even with key trimming it still gets stuck at times.

A simple rekeying of a new home (online estimated to be 1 to 2 hours) took close to 6 hours with the locksmith needing to take multiple trips to the store. When installed incorrectly they charged for someone to come out and fix their mistake. Fees are also above average based on searches. This company is a total scam and it would have been more affordable and quicker to try it on our own.

Update (One Month Later):

I originally left a five star review because the service during the initial visit was excellent. Unfortunately, the key that was created for my car stopped working about two weeks later. It no longer locks or unlocks my doors automatically.

I reached out to the company several times and was told the technician would call me back. After multiple attempts, I finally connected with him and was told it would be a $95 charge to reset a key that had just been created. I requested to speak with a manager because I did not feel I should be charged again so soon for an issue with the same key.

It has now been over a month with no return call and no resolution, even though I spent over $500 total in services within this same time period. The original issue with my key remains unresolved.

I’m updating my review so future customers have a full picture of my experience. I’m still open to a resolution if the company reaches out.

Oscar at Master Key Locksmith is the best locksmith I’ve ever worked with. My car’s ignition locked up, and I accidentally broke the key inside. Instead of paying for a tow, Oscar came directly to me, which was so convenient. He made a new car key on the spot and explained what was going on with the ignition and steering lock.

A few days later, when the issue happened again, I called him back. Oscar came right away, replaced the steering ignition parts, and made sure everything was working perfectly. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I contacted KeyMe after getting locked out of my vehicle with the engine running. I called and paid $157 for them to come to my home to unlock my vehicle. I was able to track the location of the service truck, which came very close to my location, but then disappeared from the map. After 10 minutes and no one showed, I called KeyMe, only to be told my service had been canceled because they could not find me. I received no call or text to ask for my location or to let me know they were canceling. With a call I could have easily given directions to my home. Instead there was no effort on their part to provide the service I paid for. Where was their responsibility in fulfilling their obligations for the already paid for service? There was none. Where was the professionalism as representatives of KeyMe? There was none. Bottom line is this company overcharges for their service and they do not care about the customer. I was also informed there was a $60 charge if i canceled. But they can cancel, without the courtesy of a phone call, because they were not competent enough to do their job. I ended up paying $45 for a wrecker service, who found my home easily, to unlock my vehicle.

Had a tremendous experience there earlier this week. I was working on fixing a door handle/lock and just could not find the right type of screw for it at hardware stores. I went in to explain the problem and Shawn was able to diagnose the issue right away then provided me a screw and hex wrench at no cost! I appreciate the level of customer service despite not even making a sale.

Serious company. The technician Russ is great. Pricey but quality work. And good service and they stand by their work. There was a glitch with a lock repair and they came out and fixed everything to perfection. No additional charge. Good company that we’ve used over the past several years. Good people.
