The best! Woodward Lock & Key is top quality. They are quick to respond and very easy to communicate with. They offer text appointment reminders, showed up on time, and got the job done efficiently. Prices are terrific, and the service is even better. Tyler is such a pro and calm presence. He’s great with dogs! We had a new home rekeyed and I would use WL&K for any lock needs and recommend highly.

Update (One Month Later):

I originally left a five star review because the service during the initial visit was excellent. Unfortunately, the key that was created for my car stopped working about two weeks later. It no longer locks or unlocks my doors automatically.

I reached out to the company several times and was told the technician would call me back. After multiple attempts, I finally connected with him and was told it would be a $95 charge to reset a key that had just been created. I requested to speak with a manager because I did not feel I should be charged again so soon for an issue with the same key.

It has now been over a month with no return call and no resolution, even though I spent over $500 total in services within this same time period. The original issue with my key remains unresolved.

I’m updating my review so future customers have a full picture of my experience. I’m still open to a resolution if the company reaches out.

Original review:

Oscar at Master Key Locksmith is the best locksmith I’ve ever worked with. My car’s ignition locked up, and I accidentally broke the key inside. Instead of paying for a tow, Oscar came directly to me, which was so convenient. He made a new car key on the spot and explained what was going on with the ignition and steering lock.

A few days later, when the issue happened again, I called him back. Oscar came right away, replaced the steering ignition parts, and made sure everything was working perfectly. The car has been running great ever since. He was professional, honest, and knowledgeable—clearly an expert at what he does.

If you need a mobile locksmith in St. Louis who provides fast, reliable, and affordable service, I highly recommend Master Key Locksmith and ask for Oscar. He truly went above and beyond.

Not just a locksmith — a lifesaver. I locked myself out of my car on a freezing morning in St. Louis. I called John, and within 20 minutes he was there, calm and kind. He didn’t rush or overcharge — he just helped. It’s rare these days to find people who treat you like a human and not a transaction.

Serious company. The technician Russ is great. Pricey but quality work. And good service and they stand by their work. There was a glitch with a lock repair and they came out and fixed everything to perfection. No additional charge. Good company that we’ve used over the past several years. Good people.

Had a tremendous experience there earlier this week. I was working on fixing a door handle/lock and just could not find the right type of screw for it at hardware stores. I went in to explain the problem and Shawn was able to diagnose the issue right away then provided me a screw and hex wrench at no cost! I appreciate the level of customer service despite not even making a sale.

We had a wonderful experience with Nate our Locksmith. He was early, let me know when he was on his way. He had no problem working with my son in the pouring rain. Took him step by step through the process of programming his key fob and made sure his battery was back connected(my son disconnected it because his keys were stolen out of his car the night before).
We will definitely be using this service again for the customer service and for the reasonable pricing that came with it. 1/3 of what it would have cost me to take it to our dealer. Thanks Nate!

Anyone tried replacing a car key lately? Omg, the days of looking up a physical place and going there and getting a key are almost kaput. A quick search revealed about 10-20 places, the problem being that none of them are local or have a physical location. They all seemed to be operators who assign you to some unknown local person who can come out to you and replace the key. That seemed problematic – giving my address to strangers I can’t trace back to a particular business. Add to that, there prices were double what I paid here : Here it was $75 to get a key w a chip replaced for a late 2000s foreign car.

I’m so glad I could support an actual local business, reputable and with a physical location.

The key was ready in no less than 30 minutes, they had me check it and then shaved it down a little more. Very transparent and I got the same info on the phone and in person. I’m telling all my friends about this place for when they need keys.

My key would not turn in my ignition, the locksmith tried my key and it would not turn. He made a key went in the car and it started. He then told me the ignition switch was bad. He quoted me a price of $150. I said ok, then he said I can I make you a key with a chip for $250 I said why would I pay $250 when I need to replace the switch. I was happy the car started. So we got in the car, he showed me how to start my car by putting the $150 key in the ignition give it a tap and put my key with the chip on top of the key in the ignition and turn, the car started. Here’s the problem he gave me a $5 key and used my original key on top to start my car. I was ripped off. I’m aware over the phone she say the starting fee was $120. I paid $150 for a $5 key. I felt he should have charged me a service for coming out, not $150. Especially when I have to use my key against the $5 to start my car.
