Mike came out, after hours, was priced better than anyone else and performed an enormous amount of work. I’m a grateful for how honest and attentive he was. As you can see from the photo this was no small task. Thanks again

So nice and so helpful not to mention how reasonably priced it was, I had to give the guy a tip. I bought a nice used door for my garage and wanted to keep the original hardware so I brought him the lock and he re-keyed it while I waited.

My very first time visiting today and the wonderful woman working there helped me get a new key fob for my car. My previous key fob was falling apart and was held on with duct tape. Literally took 5 mins and only costed me under $70. Biggest bonus for me was she was super sweet towards my 4 year old daughter and offered her candy. Thank you Backus for the incredible and genuine service.

Just called. The guy who answered the phone was very rude, wouldn’t answer my questions, and yelled at me demanding my address so he could transfer me to someone else. I just hung up. I’m calling another company. All I did was ask if they could program FOBs, and how much it would cost. He didn’t need to yell demanding my address.

I called Gary because I couldn’t open my safe. I didn’t know where the battery compartment was and I wasn’t sure if it was corroded. We had our valuable papers in it. I knew the combination and could hear the click after tapping in the combination on the keyboard but it wouldn’t open. Gary told me he would help me by telling me how to open my safe over the phone. Gary was so patient with telling me it’s most likely the batteries are dead. He asked me to take pictures of the safe and send to him. He looked at the pictures I sent and called me back and said there must be a battery located around the keypad. I couldn’t turn the keypad board as he suggested but after that decided to I take another close up picture of that keypad. On that closeup photo I could see a compartment with a push down tab . After pushing that tab down, I was able to pull out the compartment and find the batteries. I immediately replaced the batteries. Voila!! The safe opened easily with new batteries.
I never needed a costly service call, but I was so happy to get Gary’s assistance over the phone!!

Outstanding local, family-owned locksmith located in a retro yellow building. A true example of personalized service done right. They went above and beyond to solve a problem that stumped other locksmiths: making copies of two non-standard keys. Instead of giving up, Edgar spent extra time searching from their dozens of different blanks until he found one ones that worked. Friendly, patient, and determined to help — exactly what you hope for in a neighborhood business. Highly recommended! And the price after all that effort was way lower than I expected.

I had a terrible experience with this company. I needed a new lock or handles for my old lock. They said that my old lock is of very good quality and the same new one will cost very much. I replied that the lock works well without problems, it just looks terrible (especially the handles from the lock). I asked if they had any new handles suitable for this lock, but there were no handles available either. Then the seller asked for the key to the lock, took the lock and went to another room, and when he came back 5 minutes later, he said that I must pay 35 dollars for the fact that he adjusted it. However, I did not ask him to do anything with the lock, because it worked without problems. In general, I do not recommend this place to anyone!
