We had our car key stolen while visiting in Chicago and Jose and Julian were extremely helpful in getting us a replacement key. Julian even talked “legos” with my kids while he worked quickly to program the new fob. They were quick, professional, and very kind. I needed a new key made for my older Honda CR-V after losing mine, and I’m really glad I came here. I had my spare key with me and wanted to replace my lost key with one that has buttons. Before coming in, I called around to multiple locksmiths to compare prices and get a better understanding of what I needed.

I didn’t speak to Dominic on the phone, but he helped me in person today and was great to work with. He explained everything clearly, made the process easy, and even gave me $10 off for leaving an honest review. The price was fair, the service was quick, and the key works perfectly. They even gave me a spare key, that works just the doors included in the price.

Stay away. Was stressed after losing my key on vacation and realizing it wasn’t on my person upon return to my stay and park.

I spoke with person on phone who took down info of vehicle and said no problem. They sent a tech out who was unable to fine me the first five minutes, despite being given pretty clear directions. Then, when he began he seemed very inexperienced. He was able to get into my car but then the alarm would keep being set off as he was trying to cut a key, or whatever he was doing. He finally stated he was going to need a special key that they would need to order and that it would take a day. I asked why this wasn’t explained to me over the phone when they initially knew the year/make/model of vehicle. He did not offer up any type of explanation, so I think the job was just completely over his ability to do. A complete waste of two hours. I told him I would find another locksmith and then he left.

I was quickly able to resolve the problem with other competent people. Would give no stars if that was an option. Yes these guys are close to Rosemont area but you could be in for a headache and ultimately no help by choosing them.

Went to Menards in Machesney Park IL. Paid for two keys. Was thrilled by the convenience. Assumed machine would spit the keys out instead was advised we could expect them in 3-5 days. We were fine with that. 8 days later we still have no keys. Tracking says it has been out for delivery for 6 days. 6 DAYS. KeyMe Customer Service does not respond to emails. Next stop filing complaints with the AG Avoid this service. Use a traditional locksmith. Will also contact Menards suggesting they pull the kiosk.
UPDATE- Contacted KeyMe Customer Service and it went downhill from there. At least 30 emails back and forth. They used UPS Innovations which transfers the shipment to USPS, so tracking stops once USPS has the package. Stated they would issue new keys. Still no keys, but this time they shipped them standard UPS so at least we have a tracking number. They have refunded my money and claimed they will provide a gift card for the trouble.

If you are in need of a locksmith, I highly recommend Citadel Lock & Security in Oswego, IL. They are very friendly and extremely helpful. I had a very old Medeco lock that I needed some new keys cut. After some failed attempts due to the age of the lock, they were able to re-key it and modernize it at no additional cost. They are great people to work with.

Horrible experience! First time we called the person that was supposed to show up never showed up. We waited over an hour and a half. Second time we called a new person showed up and what was supposed to cost $180 cost over $400! $10 extra fee, 10% extra fee, if you don’t have cash and you pay credit card it’s another 10%, complete scam!
