Mitch saved us when we left keys in the car on a road trip after AAA roadside service could not open our door. He had to drive an hour each way. He unlocked the door quickly. He was friendly and courteous. He communicated with us about travel time and showed up when he said he would.

John’s Lock and Key were phenomenal! The ignition cylinder locked on my teenager’s 2009 and they were able to help get us moving again. They didn’t immediately try to go for the “expensive” fix but after walking me thru what to try to no luck they worked quickly to find the part and get it going. They were very professional. Communicated well and was very easy to work with. I’ve gone there before the little things and they always were nice. This confirmed if I need any help with locks I know where I am going.

Called around for a replacement fob for my Jeep Cherokee and prices were absurd. Called Eric, and got 1/3 of the price of dealerships and Ace Hardware.

Schedule appointment. Showed up. In and out. Eric is friendly and just gets it done. I’d recommend for anyone.

This shop is a treasure yo have in Ames. Extremely knowledgeable. Lots of parts/keys/locks/extras in stock. Made some, long lost, new keys for my classic car. Had them cut right away and we’re able to fix an issue with the locks caused by sitting for 40 some years. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommend them. Thanks guys
