Had an appointment with the window being 4:30-5:30. I was quoted on the phone for $30 per lock (I had two) to get re-keyed and a $20 service charge. I called at 5:32 when no one showed up. They said they would call me back. 15 minutes later I received a phone call saying if I want them to come out it would be $300 now. I asked him why was I quoted for $80 on the phone and it’s $300 now and he said “things change we don’t give exact prices on the phone” What a bunch of scammers!!I will be going through a different service.

Wow! Excellent service all around to have a key created for our car. Professional, knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate – Kevin at Hawkeye Lock was so incredibly kind and helpful when I left town with our car keys – leaving my husband without transportation!
He answered the phone promptly, no waiting for a callback, he understood how important it was to get keys made quickly and dispatched service within 10 minutes –

The service and friendliness of Royce was 5 stars but the price was unreasonable. I asked for a quote ahead of time and they said they’d have to see it first. It didn’t make sense but I was tired and wanted to get it done so I could take a family member to the hospital in the morning. It wasn’t after hours. Not a holiday. Not urgent. It was just a locked door. It took 5 minutes. $180!!!! If they just would have given me an estimate on the phone I would have saved them the trip and called around more. Shame on me. That won’t happen again. And not giving someone an estimate is just bad business.

I was skeptical of the outcome as it relates to key functionality. The results was a copy of my key that performed exceptionally well. There was no binding or resistance when turning inside the lock. It is important to note that using an original key to use as the reference is paramount. I would highly recommend giving the key kiosk a try when you need to make a copy of a key.
