My key broke off in my car ignition last night. Thankfully, I could get it out, but my key had come out of the fob completely and I couldn’t fix it. I had a new key cut a few years ago, but I needed it to be programmed. I looked into a bunch of options, and the quotes I looked at seemed a bit higher than what I wanted to pay today. When I called Clark’s, I was greeted by a very nice lady who let me know I could walk in with the key and get it squared away. I came by the store and Todd was incredibly helpful! He got my fob fixed up using the old key in under 20 minutes! I paid a very affordable price for the fob to be fixed up, and I was able to get back on the road and go to work. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you!

Edit – 4/16/29:

After I posted the original review, the owner reached out to me about the job that was done. He indicated that I should have been told about “beauty plates” that are installed behind the locks to cover the damage that is done when removing difficult locks. He offered to order them and have them overnighted so that he could have them installed while we were home.

In fact he succeeded in making this happen and the result is very satisfactory (see image with plate behind the lock). So I have increased my rating by two stars and I say “Thank you” for your response.

Original review:

I am not impressed. The price for a home visit and replacement deadbolt is reasonable enough and they came in a very timely fashion. But I think the job was done poorly.

The aluminum door was left pretty marred and I took 20 minutes vacuuming the metal filings out of the indoor-outdoor carpet from drilling out the lock. The tech did offer to vacuum – I said I’d take care of it – but I think that experience would have suggested to put something down to catch these filings rather than letting them fall into the carpet. Also, torquing the lock with a 10″ screwdriver, one should expect that it is going to damage the door as it did.

So, I have a new lock costing over $125 but I also have a door that looks worse for wear than it did before the job. I’ll look elsewhere if I have to get another lock repaired.

Quick and easy, 5 stars… Although I thought it was a good idea of getting a digital key made, so I could just have a code to make more keys, I gave up my email. Now I am getting emails to create an account to get my digital key. I like the fact I can make an anonymous key, but now they want me to attach it to an account with my address? Not what I wanted, lost of stars and convenience.
