I got a key made and compared it against the original and realized it didn’t match so made a second one and it matches and worked.

They refunded the first one right away.

I find the process to be very annoying and the prices unacceptable.. While it’s a convenience to have a kiosk nearby to make a key quickly, the pricing and the gratuitous and relentless upselling is really offensive. $11 for a single key is not reasonable. Having to figure out how to bypass or say no to 4 or 5 additional screens that are trying to upsell me is not reasonable. Having a keypad that is totally exposed, without any shield, to anyone standing behind you and/or any to the store security cameras mounted on the ceiling, where I needed to enter my email address, password and telephone number is not reasonable and a total security risk. I have used key me many times because of the convenience but I will go out of my way to use a real live person locksmith in the future if I can.
