RIP OFF! I needed a lock opened, for the hood of my van, and the the first guy, Aviv, couldnt pick the lock, even after drilling it. After a few hours of trying (he seemd challenged by the task, and he was a nice young guy) i asked him how much this would cost me, but he wouldnt tell me how much, he said “it’s not hourly, just a job fee.” When my neighbors who were watching the ordeal and I figured out the lock wouldnt be picked, and the only way to release the hood of my car was to use a grinder to cut through the metal, i told Aviv he could leave, i gave him a tip even, and he told me “my partner will be here in 10 minutes”. I gave him that leeway, but then he said it like 7 times. Finally his partner (Nir Ziri, venmo @nirziri12) arrived after 90 minutes or so. And when he arrived he wasn’t properly equipped, i had to roll out my own portable generator to plug in his grinder. After 30 minutes of destroying the hood of my car, it was open. And then he said i owed him over a thousand dollars. He wanted $1150, I talked him down to $750 and paid to be done with it (note I knew locksmithing wouldnt be cheap, but dude!). So then an hour later i was pissed, so i called the company again, i recorded the discussion, they said they’d call me back and never did, and when i called them back they hung up on me.

The moral of my story: do your homework (there are reddit scam posts about this company), require company information from the people they send (my receipt shows no business address or phone, but they have a local address online which i will visit soon), and dont let people talk you into waiting for help if you want them to leave and know your friends can help tomorrow. I was impatient and it cost me.

Barak Lock & Key is the Best!
I’ve had the same lock since moving into my condo 12 years ago. Lock itself is original and more than 40 years old. Finally decided to get the deadbolt rekeyed to match the lower lock as I never had one.
Barak came out, replaced the entire deadbolt lock with a new one and rekeyed it to match the lower lock too.
He wasn’t satisfied with the lower lock smoothness when twisting the handle. He took it apart and found a broken piece from a previous lockout repair. He had the spare part in his truck and replaced it. He didn’t leave until he was satisfied that all was perfect. Everything now works like it was brand new and the price was more than fair. Big Thanks Barak !!

BEWARE – they completely ripped me off. I had a lock box emergency and they charged me a ridiculous amount of money to cut the box open. I was on the side of the PCH, it was getting dark and I had no other option. They clearly knew this and took advantage of me. Added ridiculous costs for “weather” and “holiday pricing” because it was the Wednesday before thanksgiving. DO NOT USE KEYME!!!!
