I don’t typically write reviews, but I was so impressed by Tal that I feel compelled to share. I called him after losing my car keys, expecting a quick replacement. What should have been a simple install turned into a much more complicated situation due to issues with my car.
Tal put in many hours over several days, returning multiple times without charging me anything beyond the original quote. When it became clear that the problem required a mechanic, he referred me to someone trustworthy with fair prices and followed up afterward to make sure everything was resolved. He even sent one of his team members to handle the final touches—again, without charging extra.
Tal went above and beyond at every step. He was clear, communicative, and highly reasonable with his prices. I am incredibly grateful for his professionalism and trustworthiness (especially after some less positive experiences with other autosmiths). I felt in good hands throughout the entire process, and I’d recommend him to anyone.

Original: I used the automated kiosk inside Safeway. It was $11 per key. Made a terrible copy, notable differences between the original and duplicate, and barely worked. Will not be returning.

Old-fashioned in the best sense of the word is how I would describe this locksmith’s shop. I just needed some keys duplicated, but they had a choice of key blanks for me, and did the job quickly and professionally while I enjoyed the nostalgic ambience. Great service!

These guys are amazing! Melvin is a magician. He not only removed a broken key from a lock barrel, but managed to make a new key from the broken piece. Highly recommend!!!!!

It was pricey, but super convenient. I couldn’t make it to a real store within store hours, so this was a great solution for me. It was pretty quick, no longer than a key store. They have a great selection of designs if you can wait 3-4 days for shipping, They DO have standard blanks (and a few designs) in the machine if you need one right away.

I don’t enjoy being rejected after I’ve already paid. My local key maker was completely fine with facilitating my request for much cheaper. Just goes to show that we should be supporting local businesses instead of these corporations.

This is a scammer locksmith, do not use them.

They did the job but charged 5x what they had quoted, and refused to leave until they received payment. When I complained they refunded some; then later when I started asking too many questions (via text) they refunded an additional amount.

It was my fault for not noticing there were no reviews and that the address provided is actually a toy shop and a dentist.

The weird thing is they actually replaced the lock and the guy was quite nice. Now I have to replace the lock they replaced, lock my credit card, and do identity theft monitoring.

Broke my car key off in the ignition. Managed to get it out in hopes of getting another key made. I hear these guys at Novato Lock are the best, so I went. Unfortunately, they’re closed at 12:30 on Thursday. No hours of operation posted on the windows or online, and no one answered the phone. But they are hiring!
