Eric is professional, efficient, and friendly. He got here on time and changed my locks so fast! He took time afterwards to walk through my house with me to answer my questions about setting up security cameras. He explained thoroughly what I could do, recommending camera placements as well as what products to use. He also assessed a lock that I had questions about. I needed a new fob programmed for my car as we lost our only one. On the first call, I was told they would be out in an hour so I went home from work early to meet them. When the locksmith didn’t show, I called back and was told that my appointment wasn’t until about 5 hours later. That was nonsense. They said they’d have the locksmith call me. He did and said he would come the next day between 11-12pm. He also noted that the price of the fob was about 3 times more than what they told me it would be on the phone. He didn’t show up the next day. I then called again and arranged a time the following week. Again, it the guy never showed up.Against my better judgment, I thought I’d give them one more chance the following week. I called them up and they said they would have the locksmith call me. He called and said he would come from 12-1pm but would call me back to make sure they had the right fob. He never called. Reading the reviews, I see they are merely a broker for independent contractors. I’ve been put out 4 times by these guys. It’s a good thing my need for a new fob wasn’t critical as I have two other cars we can drive. Bottom line. The service sucks. I’m now looking for a locksmith that has a brick-and-mortar location and answers the phones themselves. This broker uses unreliable contractors.

Our front door lock, handle, etc. needed replacement. I found Carpinteria Lock and Key online and called. Ricky answered the phone, asked me to send pics of the equipment, found a replacement, sent me a picture of it and gave me a reasonable quote. We set an appointment two days later and he came on time and professionally completed the job. He even drove out of town to find the equipment at no extra cost. Payment by credit card was easily available too. He was very communicative

Look at this door handle and tell me if you think it’s $500 in labor (I bought the parts). Christina and Esteban are nice but this should have been half price and not taken 2 trips b/c a plate was not in the work van. He had to take everything apart again and we paid in refunds, lockouts, time and a giant price tag. I am grateful the job was done, but anyone looking at this job can agree it’s not work half a grand.
