  Key needed to be sanded down because it was very jagged where it was cut. I also think 14$ for one key is extremely expensive since I could go to ACE hardware and get the same key for the 3$. But The design on the key was so perfect and personal for my boyfriend I had to get it for him so aTHAT MADE IT WORTH IT. Otherwise no

  Needed a single key duplicated quickly, and didn't have time to go to my local hardware store; KeyMe was available at the grocery store, so I thought, why not? The process takes a bit longer than getting a duplicate key from my local human-staffed hardware store; however, the convenience of the kiosk made up for that. Unfortunately, after the duplicate key was ejected from the kiosk, I visually compared it to my original...and found that it had not correctly scanned my original key; a test in the lock confirmed that the key was mis-cut. I called the toll-free number from my emailed receipt...where, to my pleased astonishment, they quickly and courteously refunded my purchase cost _and_ provided me a voucher for a new key duplication at no cost. The second time around, my key was scanned and cut properly, and worked just fine. And, even with the time needed to cut and test the failed duplicate, contact KeyMe, and go back to cut and test for the second duplicate, it still took slightly less time than traveling to the local hardware store to get the key duplicated...especially the day before Thanksgiving. KeyMe's customer service and support absolutely rates 4 stars...and as the technology (and its implementation) improves, it could provide a readily-available alternative for small numbers of keys. If you're in a hurry, need a lot of duplicate keys, need it done right the first time each time, or just want that human touch, stick with the local hardware stores for now.

  This is the first time I used the kiosk and enjoyed how quick and professional it was! The ‘designer’ keys are great and I’ll be returning for more keys soon!!
