I'm out-of-state and called KeyMe to inquire about installation of a deadbolt and lockset on a front door (my hardware) in San Jose. A nice fellow named J gave me a budgetary quote of $100, took my information and said he could arrive in a few hours after I checked in with the tenants. 30 min. later a guy named Adam calls me and says he's the technician for my service call. I explained that I spoke with J and we were good to go. No, I'm the technician says A. Who is J? I ask. J works in the office, I'm the technician. He quoted the correct street address so I concurred--this must be the technician that J has arranged to do the job. OK, then A calls me from the house with my tenant and says the job is $269. No, I say, J quote around $100 if there were no complications. After he realized that I was going to give J a call, A says $160. This kind of bait & switch is very unprofessional and a sleazy way to conduct business. The tenants also report that A was very rude and had a bad attitude. He wouldn't answer any questions about the locks and gave the strong impression that he didn't want to be there. Probably because I pushed back on his original quote. On hindsight, I should have told A to standby and called J to clear up the confusion. Bottom line is you don't know who your going to get or what you'll pay until someone arrives... don't trust a quoted phone estimate. There were no complications with installing the deadbolt and lever so I'm sure I paid $60 to much to the rude technician.

Went in made my keys got a 3rd free. They all work great. No line. Quick, awesome made it to work on time.
