We rented a UHAUL from here, definitely won't do that again. When we went to the gas station to fill this truck up, it was at 3/4 full. My husband filled it up and dropped it off at the True Value. I got my receipt and I was charge $52 for gas. The owner/manager claimed that when he got into  our truck the tank was at 3/4 when we dropped it off. I'm sorry, $52 to fill a tank from 3/4??? We spent $28 to fill it up. The man running the UHAUL  was downright rude from the second we walked in. I had it reserved from 8AM-6PM, when I showed up at almost 10 AM I was scolded as if I were a child. I paid for a service, I picked it up when I could and I still brought it back by the agreed time. I will most definitely be calling corporate and have this taken care of. I tried explaining to him that we filled the tank and he continued to say we didn't. I will not argue with someone that clearly does not put their customers first and has a poor attitude.

The worst, most unpleasant, extremely inappropriate, unusually offensive, and simply uncivil customer service experience of my life. U-Haul and True Value representative Dwayne Whitt has earned himself an ego-maniac award of the year. It is employees like Dwayne that destroy reputations of brands and years of hard work of business owners. His negligent approach to customer service will forever turn people away from wherever he is working. I feel sorry for Dwayne, and especially for the business he is destroying…long story short - on a beautiful Sunday morning of August 22nd I arrived to pick up a U-Haul trailer. When I arrived 5 trailers were sitting there, but Dwayne said that I was 30 min late for my appointment, and he is executing the right to refuse me service for being late. Furthermore he said he will charge me $50 late fee- “just like the doctors do”!!!
Dwayne did not ever care to ask why I was delayed, he just decided that U-Haul or True Value did not need to earn their money today.

Dwayne Whitt is the worst Uhaul representative I had displeasure meeting. When Bo and I showed up at 9:30 am on Sunday Aug 22 to pickup a trailer we reserved online a night before, Dwayne was standing outside the store and greeted us with these exact words “You are late, You don’t get a trailer today” I thought it was a joke and went inside True Value to buy a new hitch. When I got back to the counter Bo told me that Dwayne wasn’t kidding and is refusing to give us a trailer just because we are late. He told us that 9:00 reservation must be treated as a Doctors appointment and we will be charged $50 late fee. Then he told us to leave the store immediately. I told him that we will get a trailer elsewhere, went to the car and within minutes reserved another trailer at Delavan, but for $25 more because Delavan was out of our way back and I had to select Lake Geneva as drop off location.
Next day I went through Uhaul reservation policies and couldn’t find any justification for Dwayne actions, there is not a word about $50 late fee, in fact Uhaul now owns us $50 reimbursement for not delivering a trailer we reserved or equal substitute due to incompetence of Dwayne Whitt.
My guess is, Dwayne decided to teach us lesson for being 30 minutes late. The only lesson I learned is to avoid doing business with this Uhaul or True Value for letting employees like Dwayne to exist.

The women running the store are why this business stays alive. I have nothing but problems with the old man working the store, has an attitude most days, not welcoming or friendly, we TRY rent trucks at this store on a weekly basis but if its not the women running the store we dont even try. he picks and chooses when he wants to help. RENT UHAULS FROM RV MART OR NORTHSIDE MOBILE IN Lake geneva : you wont be left stranded. I hate leaving bad reviews :(

The service is fine and the people are friendly. However, the carpet cleaners they have for rent are terrible.  First of all, the reservoir is super heavy even before you put water in it.  But the worst thing is it just doesn’t suck enough of the water out of the carpeting. I finished cleaning my carpeting 28 hours ago and it is still wet. So along with the cost of renting the machine (Rental One brand, $35 for 4 hours, vs Walmart’s Rug Doctor, $30 for 24 hours)  I have had three fans running constantly to try to get it to dry. I highly recommend they look into a different brand of carpet cleaner.

Their sign clearly states open til 2pm on Sundays. Got there at 1:54 and the store was already closed up. Needed something last minute. Called the store and the guy that answered was rude as hell and just said my clocks say 2 so too bad... told him he should probably change his store hours if they aren’t really open til 2... guess I will take my business elsewhere!

Tired to rent a hitch by them and the man was so rude. Not caring that we have gone there and spend a lot of money at his store and are regular customers. His customer service skills are non existent. We will not be returning here any time soon.

While the staff was courteous over the phone, the experience soured when I attempted to rent a tool with an out of state license (I was visiting family in town over the holiday). Instead of requiring a deposit, placing an authorization on my credit card, and/or asking some background questions to dispel concern I was accused of being a thief by being told "I can't afford to lose another tool." My license was actually tossed at me across the counter and told to have "someone local" return instead. When I explained that I had driven over instead of the local family member because she was working the actual response was "that's not my problem."

Save yourself an insult and shop at the far friendlier Jackson's Do it Best Hardware store or Lowe's in nearby Delavan.
