  A Keyth system was already installed in the house we bought. When we wanted to transfer the service from the previous owner, they sent an ambiguous contract/form to us that required a two-year contract, a $125 or $295 service fee (I couldn't tell from the form), and told us that a technician needed to come out before we could get the system working. But the tech couldn't come out for a long period of time. I emailed them questions about the contract (which were never answered) and told Marianne, the sales representative, verbally that I didn't want to move forward with it because they couldn't send someone out before an upcoming trip. My wife called after our trip and asked if we could try it again. Someone named Jillian mentioned that they may send out a technician on either a Monday or Friday. Without confirming the date, a technician showed up at our house on a Friday and said we had a two-year contract with them. I called Keyth, and they repeated that we had a two-year contract with them. We did not. They then pulled out the technician without trying to work through the contract terms with me or answering any of my questions. During that conversation and my previous conversations, Marianne was condescending and did not treat me with respect. When I asked why the $295 service fee was necessary to simply turn on our service, she explained, "That's how we make money." She dismissed my concerns, explaining that they don't negotiate the service fee or the contract length. I felt that they knew we already had their technology installed in our house and thus did not care to provide us with good customer service. If you're considering installing a a Keyth system, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Now we're stuck with a system from a company we will never use. If anyone knows a good security company that can repurpose this existing technology, please let me know.

  Dear Mr. Weber, I appreciate your thorough review and find it unfortunate that you had a disappointing experience with KEYTH® Security. It is unusual to receive complaints such as yours. For almost fifty years KEYTH® has operated on the North Shore and takes great pride in providing its customers with outstanding service. After careful review I found that we promptly responded to your request by providing you an electronic contract which you signed, agreeing to all KEYTH®’S terms and conditions, including pricing. Our records indicate that after the service technician arrived at your home for the scheduled appointment to activate your system, you attempted to renegotiate the above referenced agreement. I feel that you were treated efficiently, professionally and shown the KEYTH® spirit of service. I understand you expressed that you can find better pricing using a national provider such as Simply Safe, and you may be correct. Simply Safe offers do-it-yourself installations as well as several options for self monitoring or operator staffed dispatch centers. Unfortunately that is not KEYTH® ’s business model. There are plenty of other local alarm companies that are able to activate your system, although I expect that you will find their fees and contractual terms similar to or more stringent than KEYTH® ’s. As a side; I was stunned that you referred to KEYTH® ’s contract as ambiguous. KEYTH® ’s terms and conditions are clearly defined and in my thirty six years with KEYTH® you are the first to suggest a lack of detail in our agreements.   Exceptional all around. Initial sales appointment with Todd 5 stars, honest and thorough evaluation of my current alarm system made it easy to switch over. Installation 5 stars. Wore masks, polite, professional and really knew their stuff! Customer service and accounting 5 stars, very helpful and professional! Thanks so much for a great experience all around!
