My experience with KeyMe was completely and irredeemably atrocious. I would never recommend them to anyone. My first mistake was assuming they were an actual local locksmith. They are not. They are a digital app/service which aggregates and dispatches actual locksmiths. Seeing a location near you does not mean a thing. Only after do we conclude our call do I get the text about the locksmith's info and ETA, which is 40 minutes. Three minutes before he was supposed to arrive, I get a text update that the ETA has been pushed back another 30 minutes. Thirty minutes pass and still no locksmith arrival. Five minutes later, I get an automated text asking me to rate my experience with the locksmith. Excuse me? Do they think he has arrived and has finished? I quickly respond to the automated text saying that he has not arrived yet, and get an automated response to please call the driver himself, the number is in the app. Okay. So I call the driver. No answer. I call the driver again. Still no answer. So I called the number KeyMe specifically gave me to call in case of any issues, was told they couldn't help, transferred me to another department THREE times before they hung up on me. I call a new locksmith, who was a joy to work with. Then, over an hour after the last ETA I've received, KeyMe's locksmith shows up wanting to unlock my car. I kindly inform him that I was ghosted by both him and KeyMe so called a new locksmith, to which he says "No no no, that's not okay, you called the wrong number, that's not okay." I literally called the number he was calling me from (which was also the number on the app), and also over three different "departments" at KeyMe. I ask him what number I was supposed to call, to which he responds "F*CK YOU!" and hangs up. What a nice experience! I would like to end my review with one concluding thought. Please do not be fooled by any positive reviews of KeyMe. I am sure plenty of people have had positive experiences, but that is due to the local locksmiths that happened to get dispatched to them, not due to KeyMe's inherent pleasantness as a service. All they do is get in the way. You would be much better off to continue looking until you are actually talking to the locksmiths.

STAY AWAY. I had a horrible experience on 4/17/21. Called to have a locksmith come open my car door as the keys were locked inside. They told me the locksmith would be there within 20 minutes and did not give me a firm price (said it could range from $20 and up depending on how far away the locksmith was). The locksmith showed up an hour and a half later (after I called three separate times and they repeatedly told me they would be there soon), and charged me $240 - yes, $240 to open a car door, which took less than 5 minutes. After doing some quick research and speaking to others who have used a locksmith to open a locked car, it appears a fair/typical price for this service should range from $30-100. When I called to provide feedback about the long wait and ridiculous price, the person with whom I spoke offered no help or explanation whatsoever. Finally I was told someone from customer service would call me back, and shocker, they never did. From what I can tell the service wasn’t even performed by a KeyMe employee but rather a third party that they subcontracted the work to. The whole thing was very unclear and sketchy. Unbelievable. I cannot recall a worse experience I’ve had as a customer anywhere for anything. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Do NOT use this service. We got locked out of our car, told it would be 15 minutes. An hour and a half later they show up. We used this company because it is based in Princeton, which is the town we were in. I couldn’t believe we waited that long. And then once the guy shows up, he tells us it’s a $240 bill to open the car, which took the guy less than 5 minutes. This company feels like a fraud. I highly discourage using it. And when the company placed a response to my review, and said that they were “sorry and to contact their number” the person I spoke to had no idea what was going on and hung up on me. This is a scam.
