One of the last real hardware stores. Just about anything you want or need. They'll have it or will order it for you. Need a little advice on a repair or project. The crew here can help you with whatever you have to do.

It's a nice place to go they have a lot of option for a lot of things and the service is pretty good

I just want to start off by stating how good the customer service at Tru Value is, I always get greeted with a smile from the moment I step in the door. Yes you might find some tools for “cheaper” at other stores, mainly tractor supply or sometimes sterns, but I believe the owner when they said Millinocket is at the end of the line of freight and shipments, I don’t see any Tru Value distribution centers anywhere close by. And this Tru Value is an independent store, not ran by the cooperation. All in all I have a pleasant time when I shop there and I usually find the item I wanted.

I find this store consistently overpriced. The exact same items can often be found for 40-50% less up the hill at Sterns, or at Crandall’s in East Millinocket, which is worth the drive if you’re spending more than a couple bucks. Service is not always great. I just left here to go buy $200 of paint elsewhere, because I was told they “wouldn’t have time to get to it today.” Not really sure what that meant (If you cant serve a customer, why are you open?), and they didn’t elaborate. Nobody else was in the store. Whatever, I have no problem spending elsewhere. They have a decent inventory for a small store, but if you’re buying anything more than something minor for the convenience, its worth going anywhere else.

I waited on you last Sunday Morning. Unfortunately were where unexpectedly, last minute, short staffed that day. I decided to remain open for the 31 customers that did come in and purchased the items that they needed that day. Mixing paint on a day when there is only 2 people staffing the store is not feasible. You cannot serve and assist customers, mix paint and be the cashier all at the same time. I did offer to have the paint mixed at 2:00pm when we closed. You declined my offer and left.

As for our "consistently overpriced" products. You get what you pay for. True Value is know for it's quality products especially it's Paint, a wide product variety, excellent customer service and we stand behind what we sell. If you have problem with a product you purchased here, we will replace it or refund your money.

I regret you had a bad experience. Perhaps we can do better next time.
