Update 03/22/2022. Stopped in with a lock assembly out of my gun safe which I was missing the key - I literally wasn’t in the store ten minutes - key blank identified and four keys cut and out the door. Super reasonable, professional, they ARE the “go to” security professionals. Thanks again Capital Lock, you guys are awesome.

One other review said this is the "go to" lock shop in Madison - they were absolutely right. Professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I live about 40 minutes away and won't use anyone else - definitely worth the drive!

These folks are the experts on door hardware and locks.  When you can't find what you need this is your go-to place.  Plus they have friendly helpful service.

Got locked out of car. They said they could have someone out in 2 hours. 1 1/2 hours later they arrived. Only took a few minutes to unlock my car, didn't try to upcharge me or anything. Overall happy with the service.

I stopped in today to get a couple of keys made and was greeted pretty quickly by a man behind the counter. I told him that I needed a couple of keys made and he went into the back to get to work. I was browsing the store for about 3 minutes when he said that my keys were already made. That was QUICK! So quick that I didn't even have any time to snap any photos of the shop and it's cool offerings.

The price for 3 simple keys was about $9.50. I'm thinking that may have been a little steep on price, but I don't buy keys too often, so maybe I'm wrong about that. The store was super convenient for me to stop and I can't complain about the speedy service I got. For that convenience, I'm totally willing to pay a premium for that. Also, I LOVE to support my local businesses here in Madison.

They do have quite a few items for sale in their store. They have re-programmable locks, multiple lock sets that all use the same key and lots of door locks to choose from.

There was another customer in with a pretty complex situation and they were helping him like it was a piece of cake. Any job big or small; I think Capital Lock should be able to handle it.

Do not recommend purchasing locks here. They sold me a lock for over twice what I would have paid on Amazon and refused to lower the price. Naturally this did not come up until they had already rekeyed the lock. I understand that they need to make a profit, but their price ($249) versus the internet ($95) was egregious.

Locked out of my apartment and they charged me $138 for a guy to come and wave a fob on my door lock. He smelled like cigarettes and it just didn’t feel professional. They have a contract with my apartment complex so we’re forced to use them. Although they were upfront about the cost we didn’t have the ability to shop around. I feel so bad for the people who can’t afford such a large amount. It could really be devastating for lower income families.

Awesome experience! Called him and asked how long it would take to make duplicate keys. He said “just a couple minutes”. It LITERALLY took less than a minute! Super nice guy, quality keys, and great prices. This is the go-to shop in Madison!

We called with a door emergency at our business and Justin was out that afternoon with not only a repair but a remedy for issue. Installed a completely new store front door lock with a push lever and automatic locking.  Clean, professional and extremely helpful. Will only use Capital Lock from now on.

Excellent work, Friendly staff, speedy service!   I cant say enough about how wonderful this business was to deal with.  Would recommend to anyone looking to change out locks after moving!

We moved into a 100+ year old house with a front door latch that wasn’t working - being moderately handy my husband and I thought “we got this, we’ll just replace it!”

How wrong we were. You don’t replace mortise locks - you take them to these guys! I arrived in the store with a bag full of pieces of the lock and handle. They didn’t flinch- just took my mess and put it back together! Then came and installed it a few hours later.

I’m so grateful for them - we were able to maintain the original door and lock for hour new (to us) house! Thanks guys!
