Fast turnaround (2 hour service on 4 pair of shoes - 2 pair shoes replaced full soles, 2 pair shoes replaced heels and miscellaneous repairs), better prices than other places I called, Ming is the owner and he's a nice guy.

I had been putting off getting a mailbox key copied after several machine-generated copies failed to work. I stopped by Mak&Co after work, and was impressed by their speed, care, and affordable prices. My key was copied in less than 5 minutes flat, and the owner made sure to inspect the key and make corrections so that it was an exact match. Strongly recommend for key copies!

This review is for the shoe repair.

I was referred to Mak by the Alden Shop to get my Alden shoes repaired. Mine needed new heels and leather tips. Mak and Alden have a good relationship, so Mak is able to get Alden replacement parts quickly.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I entered the shop. The shoe repair is a small, cramped area at the rear of the nail salon. It looks like a one-man operation.

My shoes were ready the next day, and look like new. The price was $72, which I think was a fair price for the repair and the special crepe rubber heels used by my shoes.

Horrible service. This guy ruined an expensive pair of boots. I took my boots to him to be stretched across the toe. I showed him exactly where on the boot the fit was too tight. When I picked up the boots, my feet were swimming in them because the insteps were so large and yet the toes were still tight. When I asked why he had stretched a different part of the boot, he told me that it wasn’t possible to stretch across the toe. Well why didn’t he say so when I brought the boots in? Sadly, my boots were made unwearable. The worst part is that he dismissed my concerns and never acknowledged any problem. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
