We've used this kiosk at Kroger twice, and both keys work perfectly from day 1. The dealership will rip you off. KeyMe does not. I'm so happy someone is offering an alternative to the dealer key monopoly.

This is not a real locksmith. They are kiosks that duplicate keys. There is a number you can call if they can’t help you at the electronic kiosk. Then KeyMe contracts to real locksmiths that are local. Keyme over chargers customers by 100% or more! So you pay double what you would if you had called a legitimate locksmith. They are not legitimate locksmiths. Just a call center. With machines.

I needed a copy of an "old" key, so I tried the "Key Me" machine in a local grocery store. Previous attempts at getting this key duplicated in big box- or midsized hardware stores were totally unsuccessful. The use of the Key Me kiosk produced a copy that was able to open a lock, but not without a lot of jiggling the key in that lock to find the "sweet spot." So at least I have a key that can work, but it's not easy...
