  I recently moved to little Italy/ Soho area and I wanted to have both of my locks changed. I called around to a different locksmith and Good Day Locksmirh had the most competitive quote. Next day the locksmith arrived first thing in the morning and changed my bottom cylinder and installed top lock with protection plate. The price was exactly as quoted over the phone. Now finally I feel safe, job well done!

  My experience with them was nothing pleasant, I called them because I got locked out of my apartment and the locksmith came an hour late (due to traffic), it took him almost 1 hour to open my door and change the lock. He charged me $75 for "service call fee" (for emergency service) even after I waited 1 hour for him. $375 to "drill lock and remove, 1 hour labor." $220 for "new lock and 2 keys" (I saw the same lock at a hardware store for $16). Grand total = $757 , After haggling with him about the price he dropped it down to $670 and would only accept a cash payment for "the discounted price." I called the store directly, which is "Vince's Village Cobbler" right after he left my apartment, and the store owner claims they are not a locksmith store, and they allow a locksmith to advertise their sign and the store has no affiliation with the locksmith and could not provide me with a locksmith license for good day locksmith. Im completely disgusted and angry about this whole experience and I feel I should warn others, get all the prices upfront if you are going to hire this service.

  On 3/28 a technician came to my condo to rekey the locks after my tenant had moved. I had sent them pictures before hand and told them that the bottom luck was stuck in lock position and could not be unlocked. I told them it would need to be repaired or maybe replaced. When the technician showed up, I asked if he could repair it. He said he could not and the whole lock needed to be replaced. Unfortunately he did not have just a bottom lock (even though i had told them upfront it might need to be replaced, so i would have expected them to come prepared). He had one set on him to replace both bottom and top, but it would have cost me more than 650$ if I remember well. So in the end, i asked him to just rekey both locks and figured i'd just have to remember to always take the key when leaving the unit. First of all, i checked online and found that a set of locks (top and bottom, same as the one on my door) could be purchased for 50$/100$! But most importantly, today, i was at the unit and found that the bottom lock now worked. I asked the contractor who has been working in the unit for the past week if he had fixed it, he said no, it just started working again one day. Probably the mechanism inside had something wrong. In any case, the bottom line is the technician said it could not be repaired, tried to sell me an incredibly expensive lock and in the end it fixed itself.... I am super disappointed and will never be using your services again!
