Oh my! I locked my keys in the car. Right now and Michael Lock & Key came to my rescue super quick and made my night! The price was great (you will not find cheaper than him) and he was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. I will definitely be using his services in the future.

They do great work! I just called to make sure they're still open and ask about vaccinations and masks:
- Only a couple of employees have been vaccinated.
- No one wears masks (even through the space consists of small rooms with low ceilings).

Good old southern people that will do ya right. Very inexpensive and it's an actual storefront locksmith.  Downtown Decatur is very scenic too 🤯

This shop is right across the street from me, so I thought it would make sense to use them to change my locks. Bad decision. :( I called for 3 weeks trying to get an appointment. Each time, the manager would say she was busy and would take my number and say she’d call back. After weeks of no call backs and due to leave town in a week, I stopped by in person and finally got an appointment for 7 days away at 9AM. She said they would call and let me know when they were on the way. The morning of the appointment, the guy called and left a voicemail that he was on the way, but never came. At noon, I called to see what the delay was. The manager was unapologetic and said since I didn't call back acknowledging the call (which they never ever said I needed to do), they skipped me and I’d need to reschedule. When I reminded her I had to have this completed today since I was leaving town tomorrow, she listed off all the bigger jobs they had for companies, saying they were big jobs and those have to come before my personal home job. Their mismanagement and lack of accountability or concern for customers was very disappointing. (I then called another company, Decatur Pro Locksmith, they answered the phone, came out the next day and did an excellent job.)

Need to update your google open business hours.  Drove 10 miles for nothing; except a lady with a bad attitude.

Excellent professional  service! I am pretty handy and Carl did a great job of helping me fix a broken door knob. Not only did they have the parts but gave me useful instructions on how to assemble it correctly —so it would stay in place. Thank you Carl and Decatur Lock and Key!!!.

I have an antique automobile that is missing the keys to the glove box and the spare tire lock.  A local Decatur auto repair shop recommended Decatur Lock and Key Shop as a team that may be able to rekey the locks for me.  I made an appointment and drove my automobile there on the appointed date/time.  They met me instantly, we talked through the options and within 45 minutes both locks were rekeyed, and I now have keys that work for both locks.  Excellent service performed by highly skilled locksmiths.  I highly recommend them.

Great, very professional and fast service! The locksmith was very clear and good about explaining what he could/could not do to fulfill my request, and he seemed happy to answer my questions. He was very thorough, including oiling each lock and testing them multiple times.

Bought a reliquary with 2 small doors that didn't have keys. Brought the lock assembly in and they ground down, and fine tuned, a skeleton key on the spot in under 15 minutes! Works great and I didn't have to pay much for the work! If I need more keys done for whatever reason, I'm coming here first.

I called 3 locksmiths in or near Decatur and asked for prices to replace an ignition key and two door only keys for my Jeep.  This company was the most expensive at $85 compared to $65 and $75.  One of the others was a little farther and one was obviously new at making keys as a sideline.
I opted for the more expensive one seemingly more professional.  I asked if I needed an appointment.  Was told no and to come by the next day between 9-5.  I stopped in the next morning and told the lady what I wanted.  She said that the real locksmith was on an urgent job right at his desk on the side of the room and could not do it but she called a young guy to look for the proper key blank.  He located one and it was not my ignition key but it would open the door.  I repeated that I was there for an ignition key.  The real locksmith raised his head an said that an ignition key would be $95.  I said I was quoted $85 the day before by phone.  The lady said that she remembered talking to me but said that she never told me that I could come the next day since they were so busy.  I begged to differ and assured her I would not have come if I been told I couldn't get the key.  Then she said that their machine was not working consistently but they could make the door key.  I said no that wasn't what I came for.  I said that I needed an ignition key and why didn't she tell me about the machine problem on my phone call. The real locksmith raised his head again and said that if I didn't want the door key to just not get anything.  I said okay and left wondering  what on earth had just happened?  This was no way to run a locksmith business and it was certainly not a professional one.  Be careful if your time is precious and you really need the right key.
