Working with CJ was an outstanding experience! He was responsive, reasonably priced, knowledgeable and fast. I will be using him again if I have a need for a locksmith in the future.

I needed two doors rekeyed at my home. CJ called me back right after I left a message and came out the next day. He was professional, communicative, and did a great job for a very fair price.

My lock was fixed incorrectly the first time. The locksmith left a part out that later caused the lock to jam. When he returned to fix it, although I was told by phone that the repair would be compensated, he then asked me to choose between paying or leaving a 5-star review. If you work with this person, you will find yourself answering too many questions, spending a lot of time trying to get the repair done, and paying good money for poor workmanship. The bribe for a 5-star review was also very unprofessional.

I recommend the community views Alexandra's previous remarks on other companies plus the other one-star I have received. It is easy to see why these negative comments would be made about one of Michigan's top recognized locksmith companies, in that there is a trend with clients that operate buildings that are not in the best condition. Most often, the owner needs expensive hardware repaired and is already settled on saving even more than the discounted rates presented. Back in August, I repaired an expensive handle set for $190. The handle was flying off the door and needed to be refastened. Business owners in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne County appreciate a low cost to repair an expensive part. I was glad to find out on site that the handle update did not lead to the lock jamming, when in fact it is a new additional issue. The need to come by and solve the matter is void because of the additional issues present. The current lockset on the door costs anywhere from $400-$900 just for parts. It’s hard to believe so I provided an example (please copy & paste to view the exact hardware being discussed): https://www.grainger.com/product/46TN42?ef_id=CjwKCAiAvaGRBhBlEiwAiY-yMDPrh3JbbwA3orEN-2BhxdAabOezxCeg6nJiQ8LDLmlwsu4aYUEIxoCL94QAvD_BwE:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!2966!3!264955915904!!!g!437908126000!&gucid=N:N:PS:Paid:GGL:CSM-2295:4P7A1P:20501231&gclid=CjwKCAiA... After being asked if I “back up my work”, I said yes and detailed a generous solution. We could make it work fine again with a new commercial lever that was agreed to be on site and installed for free. I arrived this morning to install the right part and instead of a commercial lever, I was given a residential knob and deadbolt and told to install it on a door adjusted to house commercial parts. The current commercial mortise handle set is on a door that will accept/house the hardware. To install a simple residential knob and deadbolt combo set, I would need to make an adjustment to the door. This is an increase in free work, however I decided to be very generous with an updated offer. Separate to “the repair that was to be compensated (a simple part installation which is void becuase the new issue and the wrong parts)” I figured it’d be more than fair to go above and beyond by making the additional major adjustment to the door and unjam the lock from the door to install the parts for a five star on Google. I never said “you may choose between paying or leaving a 5-star review” that is a lie because no prices were discussed at all since August, and everyone involved today knows that. Additionally, anyone who works directly with Google knows firmly that it is against policy to alter pricing in exchange for a good review, so you couldn't negotiate a figure with me that I would agree to for any service for a five-star review. There was no pricing discussed on site, over the phone today, yesterday, or even since August. In this case alone, it was quite ethical to provide the exact updated offer I presented on site today and all the value would have been added to you. After the insults and rudeness, when I was nothing but respectful, I walked out with my head held high. For a moment I almost missed the fact that the current handle is still fastened down very tightly (the repair completed in August) meaning that it’s a completely new issue present so its not a call back but a call for a whole new malfunction with the parts that just need to be updated as I recommended. When accessing a commercial repair a recommendation for new parts may be made. If so its best to accept, espically if you never intended on a new door afterall. Its very important to keep a building up to code. Yes, we do back up our work and I suggested a generous solution. The other one-star review is from a building owner in Pontiac that owns a very similar property. I am proud to run and operate C.J. LOCKSMITH INC. and will continue to make a difference in the trade one client at a time. God bless.
