  I was on the fence about how to rate this business because one employee is absolutely amazing! However the other is so rude I thought about never coming back. 4 times I’ve been in there and been treated as if I know nothing and I was wasting his time. I am a mechanic and run a shop so I send customers at least twice a week but I warn them that the customer service is horrible depending on who is working. The reason I decided on 5 stars is actually due to the quality. Both the representatives are extremely knowledgeable! The prices are also very very low in comparison to an other lock and key company I’ve ever felt with. They are very fast and I’ve never had a problem with the results of the work. I would rather deal with someone that’s rude and get it done at a fair price and good quality than just a nice guy that doesn’t know what he’s doing. Hopefully this helps someone out there.

  My friend went to American Lock and Key to purchase a FOB replacement and they sold her the wrong kind. They sold her one with a hatch back and she does not have one. She did not notice this right away because when she went in to purchase it,, she handed her old FOB and believed the guys knew what they were doing. When she called to tell them about it the guy said "You bought it! You walked out the door! Now it is yours! And then hung up the phone. I caution others.

  Every time I give this place a chance , they don’t fail to disappoint. The staff is not knowledgeable, they don’t guarantee their work and failed performance, I don’t see a reason to waste time or money here . I compare this place to a old place that can copy your house key, don’t try to copy your car key or have it programmed, they will fail . They say they have the equipment, hut believe me… don’t know how to use it , that’s why they tell you , we don’t guarantee ( they have no clue ) . My advice, go 3 miles to a professional place that knows and better prices : A and B locksmith on Pelham in Dearborn Heights.
