  I am so impressed with Kirk and his company. Our family took a road trip from Seattle to Salt Lake City and realized a few hours in that we had forgotten the key to our car cargo topper. I reached out on Yelp to locksmiths in the Boise area and was directed to Advanced Lock and Key by two of their competitors who were unable to help us on a Sunday. That alone says a lot! I gave Kirk a call and he was friendly and helpful, asking me to call him when we were 30 minutes outside of Boise so he could meet us at his shop. We did that and had two brand new, working keys for our topper in under 20 minutes. I absolutely recommend this business. They were friendly, fast, and low priced.

  These are my go-to guys for any keys I need to have made. Barrel locks, laser cuts, etc.. I've not found one they can't make yet. My last key had an issue when I went to use it. I think it ended up being partly due to the age of the car and gunk in the ignition slot/mechanism. Michael was awesome.. He came out quickly and and resolved the problem such that even my original key worked better than it had prior. Also, he took the time to explain to me how these things work.. (I'm an engineer and was curious). Definitely the guys to call and use for any lock/key issues.

  I never wrote a message for any business no matter what. But this one TRULY deserves one. I lost my key while travelling where my car was left at the Boise Int. Airport. It happened that my travel was 3 days before Thanksgiving. I called both Nissan Dealers in Boise for a key and both said it would take several days and just the key costs $45. Making the key would take anywhere between $100 to $300. I ended up leaving my car at the airport for a week and the Dealer ordered the key did not call me before Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, I went back to Boise and it took me hours just to find the place where my new ordered key is at. Then when I did find the key, the service told me they cannot do it right away. So, I went to another Nissan Dealer where I towed my care to their location and after they tried to program the key, they could not. After they could not, the guy told me “there is a locksmith guy who can do it” and strangely enough I asked him, why did you not tell me about it earlier where I was waiting for hours. I called the guy they asked me to and sure enough the guy came within 10 minutes and made me 2 keys in 15 minutes for a fraction of what the Dealers charging. Plus, he was very truly nice man. If I had known this, I would have saved at least $600. What’s amazing is that eh can come to your place/car where you don’t have to tow, it. If I live in Boise or nearby, I would keep this guy’s info in my wallet/phone and give it to anyone who may loses his/her car key w/o spare one.
