A-A Lock and Alarm was established in Menlo Park in 1957, has been owned by the same family owners for all these sixty-five years, and is arguably the best and longest-running locksmith within hundreds of miles. Rich, the current manager at the San Jose location on The Alameda between American Fitness and Rosie’s New York Pizza, is awesome. He’s well-experienced, knowledgable, helpful and friendly. He keeps the store sharp and is as serious about service business as the owner and his mobile service manager - friendly, sure, and appropriately serious because security is a solemn matter. The entire outfit is a tightly-run service. I’ve been to other lock shops before: keys poorly copied, wrong parts given are typical events at OTHER lock shops. A-A is my go-to locksmith from now on when I need keys copied, locks and parts, all of it. Need high security lock/key system for which no one but you can get key copies? Yes, that’s a real thing. (“Do not duplicate” is the lowest level of security next to a key that bears no such instruction. The highest level of security in locks/keys is medecco, due to the hardness of alloys, uniquely assigned keyway/key milling, the bi-angled cuts of the key.) If you need a lock that only your keys will fit into, then you’ll want to go with A-A. Why? Because they’re established, professional, dedicated, almost quasi-military and on your side. [Since high-security systems (e.g, medecco, Primus, Everest) are unique to each end user, key copies and lock service can only be handled by the originating locksmith company - quite necessarily as a matter of security (due to each system’s special milling design of the keyways/keys and being assigned solely to each customer), only the originating locksmith company can obtain the key blanks designated to (you). Therefor, it’s a good idea to start on the right foot by choosing A-A for in-store and/or mobile service, right? ] They also have the largest assortment of key blanks anywhere. How do I know this? I used to work there.

Willie helped me rekey two new locks and repair a very old work out lock. New keys made which perfectly operate the new locks! Super fast service. I'm extremely happy!
