I locked myself and my kids out of my car at a restaurant in Grass Valley and the guys at Reeds went above and beyond anything we expected to help us. Their customer service, knowledge and professional staff beat any we’ve experienced in a long time. We highly recommend them and appreciate the lengths they went to for us!

    Response from the owner

Thanks Ashley for the call and the opportunity to help. Look forward to helping with any future needs.

We contacted Eric at Reeds regarding replacing our locks on our travel trailer. One lock didn't work and the other was fine. Eric said they both needed to be rekeyed. We trusted him and allowed him to do it. Eric was out for about 2 hours the first time, charging us $80 for drive time. When Eric left he said everything was fine and fixed but that day both locks/keys didn't work right. We called Eric again and he came out again worked on the locks for another hour or two. After getting very frustrated, Eric blamed the locks not working on the doors not being hung right. So after paying $230 our locks STILL don't work. Eric never offered to refund our money. Please think twice before calling this company.

    Response from the owner

On my last trip out to your place, the “locks not working right” consisted of the doors requiring too much effort to push closed and latch. This was not in the original scope of work. Since you were not available, I discussed the issue with your representative on site and explained how the work that I performed could in no way have affected the operation of the door itself. On the front door, I did not even remove or adjust the lock body or strike at all, yet you claim that somehow the door did not work as well as before. The $80 for drive time is part of our normal pricing structure. Every job has a Service Call fee, yours was only slightly more than an In-town Service Call due to the fact that it is a 30 minute drive each way. The $230 fee included the opening of the locked bedroom door that you were unable to open and was the reason for the call. Both doors were rekeyed to accommodate your request to have the front door key match the back room door. Since we have not spoken after my last trip and the discussion with your representative, I did not realize you were not OK with my explanation of the situation. I would have appreciated the opportunity to come to a solution that would have pleased you.

My grandmother purchased a safe from the previous owners and she had came in too have Reeds open it up as she was having troubles with the keypad, this guy proceeds too cop an attitude with my grandmother and tells her he will not open her safe with her standing there, so we head on down too Yuba Lock and Safe and the gentlemen there opened her safe right up on the front counter and even helped carry her belongings out. I highly recommend you not use reeds services as it seems he looks too take advantage of elderly customers and call Yuba Lock instead. I find it very odd that he wanted too be alone with my grandmothers safe and belongings inside.

    Response from the owner

I'm glad to hear that your grandmother got her safe open. You make it sound as if your grandmother came into the shop and we would not help her standing in front of us. As you know, that was in fact not the case. We talked on the phone and I told her that we cannot guarantee an opening of a safe while she was here and she would have to leave it. Had she arrived and we found it was an easy thing to address, we would have. We routinely have peoples belongings left here in our possession during the day for us to perform work. This business has been here since the '70s under the Reeds name. To do anything inappropriate with the belongings of our customers would undermine all that we have worked to establish. For you to insinuate that we take advantage of the elderly and had underhanded reasons to be alone with her safe is offensive.
