I called KeyMe because I lost my keys and wanted to know pricing, and if they were able to make me a new key for my vehicle. After they answered the phone, I told the representative my situation and inquired about whether or not they could in fact make a key for my vehicle along with how much such services costed. She replied with, "Yes, we can make a new key for your vehicle." And with pricing I was told that "the locksmith would provide [me] with a price afterwards, but it would be a $29.00 service fee plus parts and labor". About this time, I found my keys and told the representative I found my keys and did not need a locksmith keeping in mind that I never asked for a locksmith to be sent to me I was just calling places looking for pricing information. She continued trying to get information from me, so I said again "I don't need a locksmith", thinking maybe she didn't hear me. The representative asked why I no longer needed a key and I restated that I had found my keys while we were talking. She confirmed with me again if I still need a locksmith which I didn't, then she thanked me and hung up.Which you would think was the end of the story, right? After we hung up the phone, about 5 minutes later, I received a phone call from a locksmith saying that He was informed I needed a locksmith, in which I replied "No I don't, I told the lady on the phone that I didn't need one I found my keys while talking to her." He said, "okay, thank you", then hung up. Now everything should be done... About 30 minutes passed and I started getting lots of calls on my cell phone, two different numbers, back to back. That's when the house phone sarted going off, intrigued I decided to answer. The call was from KeyMe, a lady on the phone started telling me I called for a locksmith and have a $29.00 service charge I have to pay. "Excuse me?", I inquired. "You owe $29.00", she replied. "For what?", I responded, I didn't get a locksmith, I told the lady on the phone I didn't need one". "Can I ask, why do you no longer need one?", She asked. Again I said, "because I found my keys". "Well you still owe us a $29.00 for the service fee", she said. "I said no I didn't no one came here and I told the lady I found my keys when I was still on the phone, and didn't need one." She hung up on me. I was pretty stunned that KeyMe was trying to get a $29.00 service fee for zero service. Unless somehow KeyMe charges you $29 for just calling and asking for pricing, which they still don't really give you, not even a ball-park price. I thought this was rediculous and the amount of calls I received. Not only that after speaking to her, as soon as we hung up another person from the same number called, and I answered. The exact same thing, another representative was asking that I pay $29.00, the difference being that when I told her I never got a locksmith and the reasoning being I found my keys. She said okay thank you and hung up. Never asked again or demanded I pay a service fee and was very polite. So TL;DR basically I felt harassed after calling KeyMe just looking for pricing and they took it upon themselves to assume that I wanted them to send someone out and their services. Everything would have been perfectly fine if the forest last I spoke to asking me to pay $29 didn't have such an attitude demanding I pay and that I power then regardless of I used a locksmith or not. All in all it seemed like woke a bit of automation and lack of communication from a call center. This is all assuming but probably not even a call center that uses phones but probably an electronic notification system that just mails out your information to any available locksmiths that have a contact with their company. Or else maybe somewhere between the first and twelveth phonecall someone would have been informed that I in fact did not need or use a locksmith.
